GENERAL RULES
- Maximum allowable length of the entire car is 3.00 inches. Maximum allowable width is 1.3125 inches. Minimum allowable wheelbase is 1.375 inches. Maximum allowable lateral front axle movement is .03125 inches.
- Body should be a scale replica of an actual 1:1 racing or street car. Body can be of the vacuum -formed variety. Vacuum-formed body must have clear windows, and clear front wheel openings (if front wheel wells are not cut out). The body must be painted. Except through legal openings, the body must cover the chassis when viewed from the sides and above. Any car without a body or an interfering body will not be allowed to continue to run. Body must have three numbers. Rear deck/bumper on NASCAR bodies must extend down to the rear axle.
- Only one guide pin per car is allowed which may be glued in place. Car must be equipped with four rolling tires.
- All stock replacement parts, specifically including magnets, must be readily available on a commercial basis and as a matter of routine business to all SCHOR members.
- Any axles, tires, gears, and guide pin may be used. Pickup shoe holders and pickup shoes may be bent for better electrical contact.
- Armature and electrical system must be stock or stock replacement. The single pole resistance for any armature can not be less than 5.8 ohms measured pole to pole at room temperature. Only narrow gap late model Mabuchi armatures are allowed and cannot be turned - including commutator or rotor stack. The commutator cannot be advanced and no part of the armature can be balanced in any way.
- All magnets must remain in their stock locations for all SCHOR classes.
- Grooving of bulkheads and bottom of chassis must occur naturally, i.e. car must be run under it’s own power on an unaltered track/rail surface. Chassis may not be sanded, cut, or modified in any way unless specifically allowed.
- Any individual parts of the car may be replaced during a race except for the original chassis and body.
- Any car that is hazardous to the track, marshals, drivers, or other cars will not be allowed to run.
- The Race Director will have "FIA" privilege at his discretion on any and all rules and to even up the classes if necessary.
MORGAN HARD BODY CLASS – (ROOKIE/AMATEUR CLASS)
(Approved Chassis: Tyco, Tomy, AFX, Auto World, and Life-Like brand cars with hardbodies, Indy/F1, NASCAR, or GTP bodies depending upon race.
This class is for Rookies and Newbies only (Racers who are new to SCHOR a have little or no HO magnet racing experience)!
Must meet all General Rules except for the following:
- CERAMIC MOTOR MAGNETS AND BONDED POLYMER GRADE TRACTION MAGNETS may be used.
- HO Slot Car Hard bodies per General Rules #2 are allowed.
- Hard bodies must be mounted via standard body clips in the standard position – they may not be lowered on chassis.
- Traction magnets may have reversed polarity. Non-conductive shims may be used to restrict the movement of the motor magnets, top only.
- Rear axle may be pinned for retention.
- Any controller may be used.
SCHOR SUPER STOCK
(Approved Chassis: Slottech T1, T2, & T3, Panther; Tyco 440 X2; BSRT T2, G3, G3-R; Wizzard Storm, Patriot; DeCosmo T+ with Ceramic Motor and Ceramic Traction magnets.
Must meet all General Rules except for the following:
- Armature and electrical system must be stock, stock replacement, or commercially available “Hot Stock” (balanced and trued). The single pole resistance for any armature can not be less than 5.8 ohms measured pole to pole at room temperature.
- All ceramic or ceramic grade (bonded) magnets may be used.
- Vacuum formed bodies per General Rules #2 are allowed.
- Drilling for body mounting tubes is allowed.
- Traction magnets may have reversed polarity. Non-conductive shims may be used to restrict the movement of the motor magnets, top only.
- Motor and Traction magnets may be shimmed on top with non - conductive material.
- Rear armature bearing may be glued in place.
- Chassis may be pinned for front pickup shoe hanger reinforcement.
- Rear axle may be pinned for retention.
SCHOR MODIFIED
(Approved Chassis: Slottech Thundercat, Panther; Tyco 440 X2; BSRT T2, G3; Wizzard Storm, Patriot; DeCosmo T+cars with Ceramic, Barium/Strontium Ferrite motor magnets, and after - market polymer traction magnets)
Must be Super Stock legal except for the following:
- Armatures may be rewound, trued, epoxied, balanced, etc. Single pole resistance for any armature cannot be less than 2.5 ohms (36 gauge arm) measured pole to pole at room temperature.
- Helper springs or shims may be used in the Tomy endbell to insure proper motor brush tension, but cannot extend outside the endbell.
- Tyco 440x2 and Tomy Super G+ cars can be run in Restricted Open set-up (except motor magnets) with no braces, drilling, screws or glue allowed unless specified.
- Adjustable brush barrels, motor bushings, and chassis clips are allowed.
- Patriot/Storm car can be run with front bumper, but it can only be pinned, not screwed into place.
SCHOR NEO
(Approved chassis: Slottech Thundercatst, Panthers; Tyco 440 X2; BSRT T2, G3; Life-Like Fast Tracker/Pro Tracker, Wizzard Storm, Patriot; DeCosmo T+ cars only with Neo Motor/Traction Magnets)
